Grant from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
We’re pleased to announce that Harness Therapeutics has been awarded a grant from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research through its Parkinson’s Disease Therapeutics Pipeline Program.
The grant will support a two-year programme focused on demonstrating proof-of-concept for our novel approach to simultaneously upregulating glucocerebrosidase (GCase) and lysosomal integral membrane protein-2 (LIMP2) in GBA1-associated Parkinson’s disease, through our proprietary MISBA® platform.
GBA1 mutations represent the most common genetic risk factor for Parkinson’s disease, making this a critical target for potential disease modification in patients with GBA1-PD and other synucleinopathies.
This programme marks an exciting expansion of our neurodegenerative disease pipeline, alongside HRN001 for Huntington’s disease, and our ALS and Alzheimer’s programmes.
Thank you to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for supporting innovative approaches to tackle Parkinson’s disease.
